Bangalore metro to introduce Smart transit cards with SBI
Bangalore Metro rail project is delayed, but they are going to be the first in the world to introduce the smart transit card which can be also used as a debit card. This is a in house developed technology by State bank of India. Besides using it as a transit card , it can also be used as ATM card for cash withdrawal and purchase.
This e-purse can be topped up through any SBI’s atm, mobile banking , internet banking and counters at Metro railway stations. This contact free , chip enabled smart card will provide a easy travel in Metro railway. They are planning to provide this card to all SBI account holders initially.Regular SBI customers can surrender their existing ATM cards and request for Metro transit card.

How to topup your Metro transit card
Topup will be allowed in multiple ways, Through cash counters at the stations, the SBI ATMs and through mobile and internet banking. They can topup through ATM by selecting the option ” services” then enter the pin and select “BMRCL topup” then enter your 11 digit card number and the amount to recharge. Topup recharge can be done maximum of Rs. 1000 and minimum of Rs 100.
