Google reader is one of ‘the‘ best RSS readers available online. In case if you are using any other online or desktop RSS Readers, then you may try switching to Google reader. When you plan to switch to or from any of these readers, the main problem you might face is your existing subscriptions and how to move these subscriptions to the new reader. Most of the major RSS readers have options to import and export RSS subscriptions in OPML file format. It is basically a XML format which can be used to move your subscriptions to another RSS readers.
How to export / import RSS subscription on google reader
In Google reader , you have to go to the “options” click on Reader settings and then click on import / export. You can do the required action here. here is a screen shot which may help you to identify where the Reader setting is located in Google reader.
Similarly if you want to move from Google reader to any other RSS Reader , you can export the subscriptions and save it as an XML file, go to your required RSS reader, there you should find a import option to import all your subscriptions. OPML is a standard format which most of the RSS readers support.
